Dog Alerts & Warnings
Unfortunately not everyone is as dog friendly as the places and businesses listed on this site, and indeed some people go out of their way to be unfriendly to not only the dogs but owners as well.
Through this page we will bring you alerts and warnings from around the country about places to avoid at any given time for the safety and protection of your four legged friend, e.g. where poisons or sharps have been hidden in grass or food, suspicious activities which may lead to dog theft, along with less sinister but equally worrying natural problems like sink holes and newly breeding adders.
There is no central register or system currently for the reporting of these types of things so we are very much reliant on our users and friendly contributing vets. If you know of a problem in your area or an update to an existing problem please let us know using the form provided or drop us an email at support@dogfriendlytogether.co.uk. We will happily credit any contributing dog related business e.g. vets, pet shops, trainers, with a link back to their website.

East Sussex ALERT - Palm Oil - Seaford Beach
Dog owners have been warned to be vigilant following balls of palm oil being spotted on the beach from Tide Mills to Splash Point.

Devon ALERT - Palm Oil
Dog walkers on Northam Burrows are be avised to keep an eye on their pets following the discovery of palm oil at the weekend.

Somerset ALERT - Leptospirosis (Weil's Disease)
A veterinary practice in Bath is warning about a rise in the number of dogs they are seeing with Weil's Disease, a bacterial infection that can be fatal if not treated quickly. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, letheragy and a high temeperature. They are holding an evening to advise on the disease in Bristol.

Suffolk ALERT - Rat Poison
Dog walkers have been warned after reports of rat poison being dumped in the River Linnet at Bury st Edmunds, especially behind Maltwood Avenue.

Hillingdon ALERT - Poisoned Meat
Dog walkers on popular routes in Hillingdon have been warned after the suspected poisoning of 3 dogs and death of a healthy pet dog in Ruislip from susped antifreeze poisoning. They believe the poison has been placed in meat that has been left for animals to find. Hillingdon Council have put up many notices around Ruislip Woods, with many more to be put up at Hos Back, Northwood.

West Sussex ALERT - Poisoned Cocktail Sausages
Cocktail sausages laced with poison have been found at a popular walking spot, and dog owners are being asked to be vigilant. The sausages were so packed with poison that eating just one might have killed a dog. These were found in the grass on the Cuckoo trail.

Cheshire ALERT - Booby Trapped Ball
Dog walkers in South Park are being warned about balls being left for dogs that are covered in razor blades and sewing needles. This comes after a Jack Russell was injured after picking one up in her mouth.
